Velocity Micro Unveils New Quad Core Workstation at IDF

The Velocity Micro ProMagix W160, featuring Intel's soon-to-be-released "Kentsfield" processor with four processing cores, debuts at the Intel Developer Forum today.

Richmond, VA — September 26, 2006 — Velocity Micro, the award-winning manufacturer of custom-built high-performance PCs and workstations, announced today the unveiling of its new quad-core workstation at the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco. The ProMagix W160 at IDF features the Intel quad-core processor (code named “Kentsfield”), NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 X2 graphics, and two 150GB high speed hard drives in a RAID 0 configuration to deliver next-generation workstation performance.

Intel’s latest processor technology fits four processing cores on a single die.
