What is the difference between 3DMark06 and 3DMark Vantage?

3DMark06 and 3DMark Vantage are two video card benchmarking products produced by Futuremark Corporation. The main difference between the two is that the Vantage version tests your DirectX10 graphics card (Vista required), while 3DMark06 tests DirectX9 cards (XP).

The versions installed on Velocity Micro systems are Basic versions. In 3DMark06, this means you may run the basic features of the software once (no looping) and when complete, you may run it again. In 3DMark Vantage, this means you may run the basic features of the software only once. In either case, to unlock the other capabilities of the softwares, licenses must be purchased from Futuremark.
