How do I clear the CMOS on the ProMagix x20/x25 (C90S)?
You will need a small Phillip's head screwdriver to complete this task.
- First remove the power cord, and the battery from the notebook. Then remove the cover from the underside by removing the 4 screws marked in red in the image below.
- Remove the RAM from both slots and peel back the black sticker (if present) from left to right (see image below) to reveal the junction labeled CLRTC1 on the circuit board.
- Using the tip of a small screw driver, press the tip in the center to bridge the two halves of the junction together and hold this position for 15 seconds.
- Return the tape to its original position, reinsert the RAM, and replace the cover and screws. Reinstall the battery and reconnect the power, then try to start PC as usual. A CMOS CHECKSUM error is expected and normal having cleared the CMOS.
