With the 7000 series, AMD has not only released another Pro line (Threadripper Pro 7000 WX-series), but also reintroduced the HEDT targeted \u201cstandard\u201d Threadripper that has not been available since the 3000 series**. Along with Pro 7000 WX and \u201cstandard\u201d Threadripper, you\u2019ll also start to see both TRX50 and WRX90 motherboards to go along with them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><em>**For reasons only they know, AMD releases Threadripper in odd series numbers only \u2013 there\u2019s no 2000, 4000, or 6000 Threadripper. <\/em><\/p>\n<h2>TRX50 vs WRX90 \u2013 How do they compare?<\/h2>\n<p>TRX50 and WRX90 are actually very similar chipsets. Both use the same sTR5 socket and have the same basic features. The key differentiators are support for the Pro line of processors and those workstation features that are unique to the Pro series only. While TRX50 will work with either processor series, the WRX90 boards are required for the 8 memory channels and additional Gen 5 PCIe lanes.
