Our 64 core <a href=\"https:\/\/www.velocitymicro.com\/promagix-hd360a-epyc-workstation-pc.php\">dual AMD Epyc workstation<\/a> comes to mind, as does our past entries into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.velocitymicro.com\/blog\/all-hail-the-performance-champs\/\">Intel&#8217;s Extreme Rig Challenge<\/a>, but for single CPU socket performance, it&#8217;s hard to beat the Intel Xeon W-3175X. For the uninitiated, the W-3175X is technically a part of Intel&#8217;s &#8220;mainstream&#8221; Xeon W-series, but is actually it&#8217;s own highly unique part. It&#8217;s a 28-core\/56 thread behemoth that requires a monster motherboard made specifically only for it and TWO power supplies. Perhaps most unique about the W-3175X is that unlike every other Xeon part, this one is extremely <a href=\"https:\/\/www.velocitymicro.com\/blog\/what-is-overclocking\/\">overclockable<\/a>. That of course, puts the W-3175X right in our wheelhouse.<\/p>\n<p>Though this Xeon processor is very hard to find, we&#8217;ve been fortunate enough to work on several builds already but we just couldn&#8217;t help showing off our latest and running some benchmarks on it. Check out the video we put together for an overview of the build, and results of our CineBench tests.<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MTdleKvQUh8\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In case you missed it, that&#8217;s a CineBench score of over 14,400, the highest we&#8217;ve ever tested on a single socket workstation, and frankly just an incredible number. For CPU intensive, multi-threaded workflows, this is the difference between calculations taking minutes and taking seconds, meaning the potential for a massive increase in productivity. Gamers and workstation users aside from the most CPU intensive workflows will see much better value with an <a href=\"http:\/\/velocitymicro.com\/raptor-z55-gaming-pc.php\">Intel Core i9 desktop<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.velocitymicro.com\/wizard.php?iid=326\">AMD Threadripper workstation<\/a>.
