Velocity Micro Pushes the Performance Envelope with the New Intel® Core™ 2 Extreme Quad-core Processor Machines

Richmond, VA — November 14, 2006 — Velocity Micro, the premier manufacturer of custom-built workstations and PCs, announced today the immediate availability of ultra-performance machines based on the groundbreaking Intel® Core™ 2 Extreme QX6700 and Intel® Xeon™ 5300 series processors. The new CPUs, which fit four execution cores in a single CPU package, can be ordered in Velocity Micro’s ProMagix line of workstations and in select Raptor series gaming PCs.

For professional applications, Velocity Micro offers the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 quad-core processor in its ProMagix W160 high-performance workstations, and the Xeon 5300 series in its ProMagix Plus W250 line. The chips’ four processing cores are able to handle massive throughput for highly threaded applications such as 3D modeling and video/audio editing and rendering.

Velocity Micro will also offer Intel quad-core processors in its Raptor Signature Edition and Raptor DCX custom gaming PCs. The Core 2 Extreme QX6700 can boost physics and artificial-intelligence processing, making games more immersive and compelling.
