What is this BlueBird CD and why can't I find it?
If your system is equipped with an DVD burner drive with the model referenced below, you may see a phantom disk when you don't have any disk inserted.
This "disk" is a virtual CD that is embedded in the firmware of the drive. It is designed to only be present when there is no disk in the drive. It contains burnware that performs what the Operating System already has the capability of doing, dragging files to disk to burn them.
Velocity Micro recommends that you update the firmware for the drive ( GH22LS50) to remove the Bluebird software entirely. You can use the OS burning capabilities for creating simple data disks, and use Nero or another burnware suite for your more complicated burning projects.
